An estimation of more than 50 million Europeans have suffered from migraine during the last year. Migraine is estimated to cost more than 20 billion € for all Europe. Because studies regarding for the most common headache (tension-type headache) are few, and because data on the cost are virtually absent, policy makers are constrained in their ability to take decisions.
Eurolight, launched in May 2007, is a response to this gap and studies the prevalence and impact of headache disorders; their burden/risk and impact on sufferers, carers, family, colleagues and society.
Eurolight is the first independent data collection on headaches at EU level focusing on a holistic, patient-driven and scientifically validated approach.
