The specific objectives of EuroLight are:

1) to ensure an efficient coordination of the activities of participants and the achievement of the expected results;

2) to disseminate

(a) during project progress, data and information via a website, connected to the Public Health portal and websites of European and International statistical organisations, e-newsletters and publications in lay and scientific journals. The website will be based on www.portail-sante.lu. It will be maintained by CRP-SANTE after the project is over and it will be linked to EHA, EHF website and to the Public Health portal and websites of European and International statistical organisations;

(b) at the end of the project to organise a Consensus conference.

3) to guarantee an effective external evaluation of the project.

4) to collect existing information on headache disorders (specifically through the recognition of literature and research material on prevalence and impact); and define indicators on headache disorders relating to prevalence, treatment, risk factors, risk reduction strategies, cost of illness and social support taking into consideration the indicators already developed by the European Community Health indicators (ECHI) project, the Eurostat strategy and based on the experience of the national level survey conducted in Luxembourg;

5) to develop a module on headache disorders for trans-national use;

6) to validate the module and to develop a final module which can be used as a basis to complete in future an EU-level survey and registry;

7) to undertake a pilot survey;

8) to evaluate the burden and impact of headache on patients, disease-management and the socio-economic aspect of headache disorders; and

9) to make recommendations on higher care standards of headache disorders with reference to treatments and facilities and on risk reduction strategies.
